EMPOWERING CHOICES: WOMEN TAKE CHARGE OF THEIR HEALTH AT DCLM MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP
In a world where the saying "you are what you eat" rings increasingly true, the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) has taken a bold step to address the alarming rise of health-related diseases among women.
This October, the Monthly Women Fellowship focused on the theme “Preventing The Scourge Of Ravaging Disease Through Early Discovery,” emphasizing the critical need for awareness and proactive measures in safeguarding health.
The fellowship featured a series of enlightening sessions that unearthed the hidden dangers lurking in their-diets, specifically, the insidious effects of artificial sweeteners and harmful chemicals.
Participants learned about Bisphenol A, a chemical prevalent in plastics, which poses a threat through everyday items like bottled water.
When exposed to heat, this chemical can leach into liquids, leading to hormonal disruptions and a host of health issues.
Other major concerns are artificial sweeteners such as saccharin and aspartame, which have been linked to cancer and weight gain, ultimately increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes.
Instead of reaching for these seemingly harmless alternatives, women were encouraged to opt for natural sweeteners and exercise as healthier methods for managing sugar cravings and weight.
The moment of fellowship also helped to shed light on Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), a common flavor enhancer that can have detrimental effects on women’s health.
With links to obesity and neurotoxicity, MSG serves as a reminder that-what seems like a harmless addition to meals can be a "friendly foe" in disguise.
Among the most pressing issues discussed was cancer, a disease characterized by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells.
Women learned that while there are many potential triggers for cancer, including long-term exposure to harmful chemicals, the relationship between sugar and cancer is particularly symbiotic, as cancer cells thrive on sugar.
To combat these threats, the fellowship provided free medical check-ups and practical demonstrations on self-breast examinations, reinforcing the importance of early detection in preventing serious health issues.
Participants were educated on various preventive measures, such as:
1. Choosing fresh, natural foods over processed options.
2. Increasing fiber intake to prevent bowel cancer.
3. Avoiding sun exposure on bottled water and canned foods.
4. Following guidelines for breast health and regular check-ups.
5. Staying informed and vigilant about health symptoms.
In sum, women were advised to take charge of their health by making conscious choices about what they consume-(opt for natural ingredients, avoid harmful additives, and encourage their loved ones to do the same.)
Indeed, isn't it time we all foster a culture of health and wellness, where prevention is prioritized, and longevity is attainable as every small change can lead to significant impacts on our health and wellbeing?
Yes, it's high time we empower ourselves to live better and healthier lives, always striving to eat for good!
