THE PRIORITY OF THE WORD IN OUR WORLD!


 DCLM WOMEN PROGRAM: HOW ISHERI ANNEX DISTRICT SHINES IN A SWORD DRILL VARIETY SESSION.

 


It was a fascinating experience to behold, as the Isheri group from Magodo district of the Deeper Life Bible Church emerged top winner of the sword drill variety session held at the monthly women program organized by the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Olowora, Lagos state.


The program which had women from Isheri and Olowora environs in attendance began with an opening prayer session which later gave way for a moment of worship, thanksgiving and testimony, affording testifiers the opportunity to recall God's deed of loving kindness and tender mercies.


One sister Joy Michael testified how she specifically asked for divine mercy and favor from the Lord, regarding an increase in her salary to afford her to meet some domestic and financial burdens. She gladly emphasized how God heard her earnest plea as her boss did ensured her wages got a hike.


Another testifier revealed how God preserved her life from a terrible attack that could have claimed her life in the previous year during her sleep. “It was from the dream at night that I felt something was sniffing life out of me and today makes it one year that God delivered me from untimely death” the testifier recalled.



The program which had a practical session titled “sword drill” had four contestants of which three represented the mega Olowora church while Isheri had one representative because it was an annex church at the moment.

The sword drill exercise was to determine how vast and conversant the female participants were, with certain Books of the Bible.


The contestants were given equal and similar time frames to discover, step-out and read from the Bible passages allotted to them.

The first contestant to step out and read the prescribed text correctly was awarded appropriate marks.

At the end of the session, Isheri district had a total of forty 40 points while Olowora had a total of ten 10 Points.


The July edition of the women's program which was tagged: “The christian woman's yearning to be rooted and grounded in the pre-eminent word of God” enlightened the women on the need to prioritize God's word above earthly choices, as it provides suitable answers to man's questions.

The facilitator, Mrs Taiwo Oyetuga drew relevant scriptures to inspire her audience to desire the since milk of the Word while emulating Job who esteemed the word of God above his necessary meal.


The program came to a close after an announcement from the Women's Coordinator, Mrs Adejimi, who directed all to read up the Gospel according to St John before the next meeting.

A period for exchange of gifts and benediction brought the program to a close as the participants finally exited with the urge of searching the scriptures, for in them, there is possibility of havingeternal life.
