ARROWS IN THE QUIVER: SHAPING A BULLY-FREE FUTURE THROUGH PURPOSEFUL PARENTING
NATIONAL CHILDREN'S DAY: ONDO TG, ECHOES OF MERCY CEO, IGNITE PASSION IN PARENTS, ON RAISING BALANCED FUTURE GENERATION
As Nigeria marks the 2025 National Children’s Day under the theme “Stand up, Speak up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation,” stakeholders in Ondo State have called for renewed commitment from parents and caregivers to raise emotionally balanced and empowered children.
The Tutor-General of Ondo Central, Mrs. Owoka Adedamilola Adebimpe, emphasized the pivotal role of parents during her visit to the Echoes of Mercy Olive Orphanage Home, Yaba, Ondo.
Speaking with #JobethMedia, she stressed that the foundation of education begins at home- where values, identity, and voice are first formed.
“Education is not limited to the four walls of the classroom. It starts from the cradle- the home- where children are nurtured to become informed and empowered individuals,” she stated.
Mrs. Owoka highlighted that with the right training, children can be equipped to stand confidently at “the gate”- the societal frontlines, to confront abuses and injustices.
“When children are rightly exposed through positive home and school influences, they gain the knowledge and courage to challenge societal ills," she said.
Speaking further, she explained how parents must be intentional in projecting positive identity and aspirations into their children.
Similarly, Mrs. Ola-Jesu Zubair, CEO of Echoes of Mercy Olive Orphanage, described children as divine gifts with innate potential waiting to be unlocked.
“If a child is given love from the beginning, such a child grows up with confidence. There’s no child that is useless — each carries a spirit of excellence. What they need is proper orientation and care,” she said.
She lamented the rising instability in many homes, warning that it contributes to a broken society. She urged orphanage homes and caregivers to join forces to create a nurturing environment that allows every child to flourish.
As the nation reflects on the future of its young citizens, these voices from Ondo underscore a timeless truth: children are not just the future; they are present-day warriors in training.

With deliberate guidance, they can one day “speak with the enemies at the gate” — as defenders of truth, justice, and dignity.
Indeed an impactful moment to inspire insight!💥
