"I TOOK VENGEANCE ON THE DEVIL..." — PASTOR KUMUYI OPENS UP LIKE NEVER BEFORE
“I AM NOW IN CHARGE”: PASTOR KUMUYI SHARES HOW HE FOUND PURPOSE THROUGH PAIN
In a deeply moving session at a recent Global Workers Conference, The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, opened up about a personal tragedy that became a turning point in his life and ministry.
Sharing his story while ministering on the topic “The Nature and Name of Jesus”, he unveiled how sorrow shaped his strength—and how loss led him to a new level of spiritual authority.
Recalling the heart-wrenching moment in 2009 when his beloved wife passed away while he was away on a ministerial assignment, Pastor Kumuyi reflected on the painful lesson he learned about spiritual vigilance.
“I failed to use the name of Jesus in shutting the family door before leaving home,” he confessed solemnly.
“While I was busy preaching, the enemy struck,” he said, as he described what followed the period of profound grief.
But it was in that season of sorrow that Pastor Kumuyi discovered a deeper calling. The spiritual monarch explained how, rather than retreat into despair, he chose to rise in divine determination.
“I took vengeance on the Devil,” he declared. “And from that moment, I said, enough is enough of the devil sneaking into my family, and, taking my loved ones.”
With renewed purpose and passion, he leaned fully on the power of the name of Jesus—a name he affirmed as powerful enough to heal, deliver, and restore.
From 2009 onward, the spiritual leader and global evangelist launched into a new phase of ministry, boldly proclaiming Christ across the nation.
“From 2009 till date, I have reached almost all the local governments in Nigeria with the gospel,” he said convincingly-
“I am now in charge, standing on the name of Jesus.”
Pastor Kumuyi challenged his audience, drawing inspiration from Acts 3:5, to rise above their past pain, peril, and personal failures.
He urged them to embrace the nature of Christ while wielding the name of Jesus in the face of every difficulty—whether in life or in ministry.
His story reminded all, that even in darkest moments, purpose can be born—
and that pain, when surrendered to God, can produce power.
